Ofsted visited the school in June 2024 and judged St. Mary's to be OUTSTANDING, the highest rating, across all areas:
Quality of Education - Outstanding
Behaviour and Attitudes - Outstanding
Personal Development - Outstanding
Leadership and Management (including Safeguarding) - Outstanding
Sixth Form - Outstanding
Inspectors described pupils’ conduct and attitudes as ‘exceptional’ in a school underpinned by ‘a strong inclusive ethos of care alongside high expectations’. Our curriculum was described as ‘broad and ambitious’ and ‘exceptionally well organised’. Inspectors recognised that pupils are ‘remarkably articulate’ and sixth form students described as ‘exceptionally positive role models’. Personal and character development, alongside our ‘uncompromising commitment to supporting pupils with SEND’, also warranted praise, as did our tenacious approach to safeguarding.
As a proud Catholic school we prioritise and value the holistic education of each pupil and strive to ensure that, through being the best version of themselves, each child can fulfil their God-given potential. Our uncompromising focus on academic excellence, holistic education and religious formation, through our Inauro programme, was judged to be exceptional by the inspectors.
