School Charity Partner

St Mary’s is proud to support Ashgate Hospice, our school charity partner, with whom we have a very close relationship. Pupils are provided with multiple opportunities throughout the year to raise money for this vital charity.

In addition, each year group also has a link charity partner. Pupils work throughout the year to learn about the work the charity does, as well as raising money and awareness.

We place high value on the importance of educating our pupils about the link charities and the work they do. It plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of social responsibility and empathy. Understanding the impact of charitable organisations helps students to recognise the challenges faced by others in their communities and around the world. This awareness can inspire them to become more compassionate, actively engage in service, and contribute to causes that align with our Catholic values. Additionally, learning about the charities teaches our students about the importance of collaboration, community support, and the power of collective action in addressing societal issues. It encourages critical thinking about how they can make a positive difference, not just for themselves, but for others also.  The year group link charities are:
